Dear Parents and Caregivers, In several parent meetings recently we have been asked to provide advice for helping encourage children to read. In this newsletter we will provide some hints and tips for encouraging teens to read. Ask about your teens reading level . One of the biggest reasons that teenagers dont read is that they do not have books that are the appropriate level for them. Dear Parents and Caregivers, This week, I was talking to one of the students that will move from grade 5 to grade 6. She is a dedicated artist, enjoys reading and is determined that she wants to be an author illustrator when she leaves school. Our conversation focused on how she could develop the artistic skills that she would need to be successful and how she couldnt find a teacher locally.
